Dispenser

Ongar Health Centre are looking to welcome a dispenser into our busy practice,who will play a full and active role as part of the practice multi-disciplinary team. The role is offered on a part-time basis for 23 hours per week. Hours will be discussed at interview.

• Dispensing medicines and collecting prescription charges.
• Maintaining stock levels within the dispensary, liaising with the dispensing manager to facilitate reordering.
• Receiving and storing supplies, ensuring the cold chain is maintained.
• Ensuring controlled drugs are dispensed in accordance with practice policy.
• Safely disposing of returned and/or out of date medicines.
• Ensuring all repeat prescriptions are processed within a 72-hour timeframe.
• Providing patients with advice regarding all prescription matters.
• Always maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Working from purpose-built premises, we are an established dispensing and training practice rated Good with CQC, with the use of Systm One computer system looking after 12,700 patients in Ongar and surrounding areas.

• NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services

• Previous experience of working within a dispensary is desirable but not essential
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• A clear and polite telephone manner
• Respectful of patient confidentiality
• Ability to work well as part of a team and autonomously.
