Senior Workforce Practitioner

The Clinical Workforce Team has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse who is passionate about clinical workforce to join as a Senior Workforce Practitioner.

This role will undertake project work as part of the Clinical Workforce team as well as providing support to the Lead for Safer Staffing to deliver training and guidance to clinical wards/departments across the organisation in Safecare and the Annual Acuity review process.

We have one 37.5 post available (job share would be considered) on a permanent basis.

You will need excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills and the ability to think creatively in order to collaborate with senior clinical staff and ESNEFT recruitment and retention teams to design, implement and evaluate clinical workforce projects.

You will have a working knowledge of the NHS Long Term Workforce Plan and NHS People Promise as well as an awareness of national and regional clinical workforce initiatives.

You can choose whether your base site will be Colchester however cross site working and travel is a requirement of the role.

Main duties of the job
  • To support implementation of the NHS Long-term workforce Plan, NHS People promise, national and regional clinical workforce initiatives in line with ESNEFT Clinical Strategy
  • To collaborate with senior clinical staff, the workforce lead, ESNEFT recruitment and retention teams and the Faculty of Education to design, implement and evaluate clinical workforce projects
  • To provide training and guidance to clinical areas in relation to the recording and analysis of Safecare data to ensure appropriate decision making and the mitigation of risk in relation to skill mix.
  • Support the Lead for Safer staffing in the annual acuity process.
  • Develop and maintain a professional relationship with clinical areas and key corporate divisions providing support and advice with ongoing projects and initiatives
  • Support activities to grow and develop our clinical workforce pipeline
  • Support delivery of trust-wide training for medical devices
  • Identify and develop resources to support retention of non-medical clinical staff
  • Provide pastoral support to non UK trained non-medical clinical professional
  • Support Safer Staffing agenda

Person Specification Experience
  • Recent post qualifying experience in an acute setting
  • Experience supporting staff in the clinical environment
  • Evidence of managing and improving the patient experience
  • Previous experience at band 6
  • Project management/QI experience
  • Experience of delivering teaching or training
Qualifications
  • NMC Registered Nurse - Adult
  • Undertaking recent/current academic study
  • Mental Health First Aider
Knowledge
  • Knowledge of current national workforce strategies e.g. Long term workforce plan
  • Awareness of the Safer staffing agenda
