Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of advancing experience in software or systems engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline (relevant certifications and professional experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree).
- Strong background in scripting and process automation.
- In-depth knowledge of Windows and Linux servers, as well as networking concepts (OSI layers, TCP/IP).
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and virtualization/containerization (Nutanix AHV/AOS is advantageous).
- Understanding of Dev Ops methodologies, Agile/Waterfall frameworks, and a strong commitment to change control and documentation practices.
- Relevant industry certifications like CCNA, MCSE, or CISSP are favorable.
- Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and communication abilities, maintaining a systematic and meticulous work style.
- Drive significant process automation with tools such as Ansible, Power Shell, and Bash to enhance system efficiency and minimize manual tasks.
- Design, implement, and uphold complex software systems across x64/x86 servers, applications, and virtualized settings, including web hosting technologies like HAProxy and Tomcat or IIS.
- Conduct root cause analysis for incidents, tackle unique challenges, and implement comprehensive resolution strategies, particularly within VIPs infrastructure.
- Establish and maintain rigorous system security protocols, comply with SOC1/2 security policies, and assist with audit processes.
- Collaborate with third-party cloud service providers (Akamai, Crowdstrike, Okta, Google, Microsoft) as required.
- Provide collaboration and mentorship to IT Security, Middleware, IBMi, and other teams as well as technical guidance to junior Systems Engineers (Level I, II).
- Research and evaluate new tools and services, spearheading deployment initiatives from beta testing to full production, while keeping pace with emerging technologies.
