Join Grafton Integrated Health Network as a Registered Nurse and make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disabilities, and developmental disabilities at our Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) in Cold Spring, Minnesota. Working under the guidance of the Nurse Manager or Administrator, you'll play an essential role in delivering exceptional care within a supportive, mission-driven organization dedicated to transforming lives.
As a Registered Nurse at Grafton Integrated Health Network, you'll play a vital role in improving the health and well-being of the children and adolescents we serve. You'll provide compassionate, person-centered nursing care by monitoring clients' overall health, managing medical needs, administering treatments, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to support each individual's treatment journey. EssentialJob Functions
- Assess and evaluate clients; obtain and review pertinent medical data; collect vital signs and specimens; monitor client response to treatment.
- Follow through with treatment plans while assisting RNs or physicians in providing direct care to patients.
- Assist with psychological reviews; schedule client appointments with health care providers and dentists; attend all neurology/specialty appointments, as appropriate.
- Document the administration of care in the client medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Provide the medical perspective into client care for all MDT meetings.
- Administer medication as directed.
- Serve as a resource to department staff and students and to help deliver quality client care.
- Provide crisis intervention services as necessary.
- Provide hepatitis B or flu vaccines and PPD testing to Grafton staff.
- Promote and assist in the control of communicable disease.
- Prepare and/or complete various health services forms like medication permission forms, on-call sheets, medical/dentist appointment sheets, etc.
- Work on-call duty in rotation, as appropriate; promptly respond to calls for immediate nursing services.
- Attend meetings, seminars, and training as required.
- Perform other work as assigned.
- Serve as backup for nurses in other Grafton locations as needed.
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Associate's degree preferred.
- Valid driver's license.
- Valid RN License from the State Board of Nursing.
- 1-year or moderate experience as a practical nurse in a behavioral health setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience; previous medication administration.
- Thorough knowledge of practical nursing techniques.
- Computer proficiency; strong communication skills; ability to maintain effective working relationships with clients and other employees.
- Must be able to work any shift:
Day, Evening, and Overnight.
