CAD Designer
Seeking a detail-oriented CAD Designer for a contract to hire opportunity working at our client location in Coldwater, Michigan who specializes in the design and manufacturing of ramp systems.
This role is responsible for creating accurate, production-ready drawings using Solid Works and AutoCAD, supporting both custom and standard ramp designs for residential and commercial applications. Salary range $46k-$50K. Hours will be M-F, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Key Responsibilities for Cad Designer Position- Design wheelchair ramps, platforms, and stairs using CAD
- Produce detailed shop drawings, layouts, and installation plans
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production to ensure accuracy and feasibility
- Revise designs based on site conditions, client needs, and code requirements
- Translate field measurements, photos, and specs into precise drawings
- Ensure compliance with ADA and local building codes
- Maintain organized drawing files and documentation
- Coordinate with subcontractors and building departments for permits
- One year of experience required, schooling can be considered
- Proficiency in Solid Works and AutoCAD (required)
- Strong understanding of dimensions, tolerances, and materials
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Knowledge of ADA accessibility guidelines
- Experience in structural, construction, or ramp system design preferred
- Experience with custom fabrication or modular systems
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes
- Experience in leadership
