Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students and families by providing essential support as a Social Worker within an educational setting. This contract opportunity, located in a friendly community near Coldwater, Michigan, spans from late August 2026 through early June 2027, with a consistent 35 hours per week.

Utilize your expertise to promote student well-being, collaboration, and educational success. Youll work with school staff, students, and families to address a variety of social, emotional, and behavioral needs, helping every child access the resources necessary for a positive educational experience.

Qualifications:

  • Valid state licensure or certification as a School Social Worker.
  • Previous experience within school settings, preferably supporting K-12 students.
  • Deep understanding of social-emotional development and crisis intervention strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, cultural competence, and the ability to build rapport quickly.
  • Experience in crafting and executing interventions for at-risk youth.
  • Familiarity with IEPs, 504 plans, and compliance with all relevant laws and school policies.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to identify student needs and develop appropriate intervention plans.
  • Support students facing challenges such as trauma, family changes, or behavioral issues.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to promote students academic and emotional growth.
  • Facilitate small group and one-on-one counseling sessions.
  • Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and community agencies.
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with reporting requirements.
