Branch ISD Adult Education Program Administrator
Our mission, at Branch ISD, is to ensure life-long learning opportunities to students and citizens in our constituent districts. We will provide leadership in cooperation with other local, regional, and state educational service agencies, as well as the private sector, to facilitate the effective and efficient delivery of high quality programs and services. Branch ISD Adult Education provides students with the academic, technical, and personal skills essential to be successful in a changing and diverse society.
Our goal is to help adult students build on their personal and professional experience to gain knowledge and skills needed through our various course offerings and programs.
This is a part-time position generally 20-30 hours per week; schedule varies based on program needs and will include evening and daytime responsibilities.
Education and/or certification:
Bachelor's degree in education, administration, organizational leadership, or a related field required. Master's degree in education, administration, or a related field preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in education, adult education, program administration, workforce development, or a closely related field. Experience supervising staff and managing programs preferred. Knowledge or experience with Adult Education programming, grants, data reporting, and compliance preferred.
Job Duties:
- Provide leadership and administration for Branch ISD Adult Education programs, including staff, instructional programming, curriculum, grant-funded operations, facilities/site coordination, and program services.
- Collaborate with the Business Office to develop and monitor the Adult Education budget and grant-funded expenditures.
- Monitor staffing, schedules, program hours, and operational costs and recommend adjustments necessary to operate within available resources.
- Use enrollment, attendance, assessment/outcome, fiscal, and community-need data to evaluate program effectiveness and recommend class locations, schedules, staffing levels, program offerings, and program expansion or reduction.
- Supervises Adult Education instructional, clerical, and program staff as assigned.
- Coordinate staff recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, training, mentoring, professional development, staff meetings, and implementation of established performance expectations.
- Ensure appropriate staff qualifications, credentials, permits, and required documentation are maintained in coordination with appropriate BISD personnel.
- Oversee accurate and timely student enrollment, placement, attendance, assessment/progress monitoring, and required Adult Education data reporting, and establish processes to ensure the accuracy and completeness of program records.
- Monitor program compliance with BISD Board policies, administrative procedures, Adult Education procedures, grant requirements, and applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
- Coordinate instructional sites, space, equipment, materials, and storage needs with BISD departments, local districts, and community partners and communicate facility or operational concerns to the responsible entity.
- Maintain current knowledge of Adult Education requirements and effective practices through appropriate state and regional meetings, training, and professional learning.
- Develop and implement outreach, marketing, and community partnership efforts to increase awareness, participation, attendance, and access to Adult Education opportunities and identify opportunities to address emerging community needs.
- Maintain effective communication and working relationships with Adult Education staff, BISD administration, local districts, community organizations, and other program partners.
- Provide the Superintendent with regular information regarding program operations, enrollment, outcomes, staffing, compliance, grants, and financial condition, and provide information or reports to the Board through the Superintendent as requested.
- Monitor and promote safe program operations and address safety concerns at Adult Education sites in coordination with the responsible facility or organization.
