Position SummaryThe Building Trades Crew Leader is responsible for new building construction and remodeling projects, including requisitioning equipment, materials, and supplies, maintenance and upkeep of buildings and grounds, planning and construction of projects to ensure conformity to specifications and codes, maintaining records and preparing reports, coordinating with other trade workers, training personnel, and overseeing the work of prisoners.

- Maintain and upkeep buildings and grounds.
- Plan and construct projects, ensuring conformity to specifications and codes.
- Maintain records and prepare reports related to work.
- Coordinate duties and responsibilities with other trade workers.
- Assist in training other trade workers as needed.
- Maintain open communication with trade workers and management.
- Serve as an advanced crew leader, overseeing the work of prisoners.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Five years of experience in a skilled trade, including one year at a level equivalent to E9 in state service.
- Drug and alcohol testing is required.
- This position may be eligible for a $0.40/hour pay premium.
- Applicants must comply with ethical standards and report any possible conflict of interest.
- Applicants with a felony conviction are under review; misdemeanors or felonies are ineligible until sentence completion.
