Position OverviewWe are seeking a Process Engineer II – Machining to join our Engineering team at our Coldwater, Michigan facility.
This role is responsible for developing, improving, and supporting manufacturing and machining processes for molybdenum products. The Process Engineer will work directly with Manufacturing and Quality to improve process capability, material yield, product quality, cost, and equipment performance.
This is a hands‑on engineering position that combines technical process ownership with direct shop‑floor support. The successful candidate will evaluate existing processes and equipment, troubleshoot manufacturing challenges, support quality initiatives, and identify opportunities to improve how products are manufactured.
RequirementsKey Responsibilities
- Develop, document, and oversee manufacturing and machining processes for molybdenum products to ensure quality and production requirements are consistently achieved
- Evaluate manufacturing methods, equipment, and processes to improve capability, material yield, efficiency, and support new product development
- Work hands‑on with production employees to troubleshoot machining, equipment, material, and process issues
- Provide technical support to internal and external customers to define product and process requirements and resolve application challenges
- Partner with Quality to investigate nonconforming material and customer complaints, complete root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Utilize FMEA, SPC, Lean Manufacturing, and other engineering methodologies to improve manufacturing performance
- Develop technical documentation, process requirements, and reports while supporting training on equipment and manufacturing processes
- Improved machining process capability, consistency, and reliability
- Increased material yields and reduced manufacturing waste

- Strong collaboration between Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality

- Bachelor's degree in Materials, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
- 4–6 years of engineering experience in a machining, metals, or similar manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of machining and manufacturing process development
- Experience with SPC and Lean Manufacturing methodologies
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP/MRP systems
- Working knowledge of Solid Works, AutoCAD, Pro/ENGINEER, or similar engineering software
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills with a hands‑on approach
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage complex technical issues with minimal supervision
