Social Worker in Coldwater, MI

Qualifications:

  • Hold a valid Michigan School Social Worker licensure; candidates with a Limited License (LLMSW) will be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience working with children and adolescents in educational, clinical, or community settings is preferred.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills to effectively partner with school staff, students, and families.
  • Ability to support students with diverse backgrounds, needs, and challenges.
  • Solid understanding of school-based intervention practices, crisis response, and appropriate documentation requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct social work services and interventions to students with academic, behavioral, or social-emotional needs.
  • Conduct assessments, develop strategies, and participate in the creation of individualized education and behavior plans.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, and multi-disciplinary teams to identify at-risk students and coordinate support services.
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with state and district guidelines for school-based social work.
  • Facilitate small groups and one-on-one counseling sessions, as appropriate.
  • Serve as a liaison between school, families, and community agencies to connect students with outside resources.
