• You plan your day, set priorities, and work with your team to keep freight moving safely and on time. You communicate clearly, solve problems as they come up, and adapt to changes on the road or in the plan.

• You handle all required paperwork and electronic logs accurately and follow all DOT, state, and company guidelines.

• You safely operate your tractor‑trailer, inspecting it before, during, and after each trip to keep it in top shape.

• You run optimized routes by following traffic laws and local restrictions—reducing delays and improving on‑time delivery performance.

• You uphold Walmart’s high standards of safety, integrity, and professionalism every mile of the way.

• Interstate (Class
  
  A) Commercial Driver’s License with Hazmat endorsement (including cleared background check); or obtain HAZMAT endorsement (with cleared background check) within 120 calendar days of hire.

• Minimum of 30 months experience in a full‑time Class A tractor‑trailer driving position in the previous 3 years.

• No more than two moving violations while operating a personal and/or commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.

• No serious traffic violations while operating a personal and/or commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.

• No preventable accidents while operating a personal and/or commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.

• No preventable DOT recordable accidents (collisions resulting in disabling damage and/or immediate medical treatment away from the scene) while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last ten years.

• No preventable accident resulting in a fatality or catastrophic injury in driving history.

• Must currently live within 250 miles of the assigned facility or be willing to establish a residence within 250 miles by 90 days from hire date.

* The preventability of any accidents will be determined by Walmart based on the ATA Guidelines.

Drivers are paid a fixed rate per mile plus activity pay. For regional drivers, the mileage rate ranges from $0.55 to $0.69 per mile, with average annual miles between 62,355 and 196,040. Drivers also receive activity pay for reporting, live load, stop/drop, and other operational activities, as well as Average Daily Pay (ADP) for full‑day events such as Walmart events lasting eight or more hours.

The ADP rate is $240 per day.
