As a Speech and Language Therapist at The Main Street Academy, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with speech and language disorders, ensuring they receive the specialized care needed for their academic success and overall well-being. Required QualificationsCertification/Licensure
- Valid certification as a Speech and Language Therapist.
- Conduct assessments to identify speech and language disorders in students.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
- Provide direct therapy services to students with speech and language disorders.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a comprehensive support system.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
- Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings and contribute valuable insights.
- Stay updated on current research and best practices in speech and language therapy.
- Work closely with other members of the special education team to ensure a cohesive approach to student support.
- Attend internal and external meetings & trainings
- Student data management via Infinite Campus and other software programs
- Conduct & review evaluations
- Previous experience working with school-aged children is preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to create and maintain detailed records of student progress.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations in special education.
- Logistics:
Assist in setting up and organizing materials and resources for after-school programs. - Other duties as assigned.
- Previous experience working with children in a school or childcare setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping purposes.
