Job Description Summary

The Multifamily Assistant Property Manager is responsible for maintaining our Affordable communities to a market-ready standard, ensuring a high-level of service at all times. They also build and motivate high performing teams to maximize the performance of the Affordable property.

$23.00 per hour starting wage, eligible for benefits and additional earnings.

Required on-site schedule Monday - Friday, 8:30-5:30. Training may take place at another property due to construction timelines for this new build lease‑up.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
  • Ensuring the smooth running of our community in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Assist the Property Manager with overall operations including maintenance, capital improvements, lease administration, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, collections, evictions, vacancy anticipation, marketing, lease renewals, service contracts, expense control, audits, etc.
  • Provide superior customer service and communication to residents and prospects to enhance satisfaction and increase renewals, revenue, reputation, and profitability.
  • Complete lease/renewal paperwork to ensure completion to company standards.
  • Track and evaluate advertising, and all client traffic.
  • Model the Cushman & Wakefield mission to be the best national management company.
  • Assist with day‑to‑day operations of the on‑site team, ensuring all policies and procedures are followed.
  • Maintain effective on‑site staff through interviewing, hiring, and coaching as needed.
  • Maintain residents' files in accordance with company standards.
  • Maintain a positive living environment for residents through prompt conflict resolution and consistent follow‑up.
  • Manage and maintain all aspects of overall community budget and finances.
  • Work with leasing staff to ensure leasing/marketing goals are met.
Competencies
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Computer literate, including Microsoft Office Suite and internet navigation skills.
  • General office, bookkeeping and sales skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Identify leasing opportunities, set goals and improve performance of each staff member.
  • Supervise day‑to‑day operations of the team, ensuring all policies and procedures are followed.
  • Be able to manage a team.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
IMPORTANT EDUCATION
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • High School Diploma, GED, Technical or Vocational school required.
Important Experience
  • 1+ years of on‑site Multifamily Assistant Property Manager experience required; strong preference for Lease‑Up experience.
  • Prior Affordable Property Management exposure required – Tax Credit or Section 8, including recertifications.
  • Yardi systems experience required.
  • Delinquency experience required; strong preference to include court attendance and evictions.
  • Leasing and Resident Support / Communications experience required.
  • Required on‑site schedule Monday - Friday, 8:30-5:30.
  • Training may take place at another property due to construction timelines for this new build lease‑up.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office environment. It routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Regularly required to travel between properties in varying weather conditions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties, the employee may need to stand and walk for extended or continuous periods of time; they must be able to ascend and descend staircases, ladders, and/or step stools and may be required to travel outside between buildings in varying outdoor weather conditions.

They may also be regularly required to remain in a stationary position (sit or stand) for 85% of the time and regularly use office machinery. The employee must be able to travel up to 15% of the time.
