Job Description

Responsible for operating a tow truck and front‑end loader to provide towing, loading, unloading, and vehicle relocation services on the auction lot and other locations as needed. Safely affixes towing equipment to vehicles, releases them, and ensures they are left secure and immobile. Assists with jump‑starting and unlocking customer vehicles through Lot Vision, transports vehicles to the mechanic shop, removes improperly parked vehicles, and maintains equipment with routine checks.

Operates within safety regulations, participates in safety activities, runs reports to move vehicles into sale areas, and helps with lot operations during sales days.

• Operate tow truck to provide towing service to customer vehicles on the auction lot and in different locations.
• Operate front‑end loader to load and unload customers’ vehicles and move vehicles around the lot for auction shops.
• Properly affix tow truck and front‑end loader to vehicle needing tow, ensuring safe handling and no damage.
• Release vehicle from tow truck and secure it in a safe, immobile manner.
• Haul vehicles to directed areas in a safe and courteous manner.
• Scan each towed vehicle using the TC75 to the delivery location.
• Assist employees and customers with towing, jump‑starting vehicle batteries, unlocking, and locating using Lot Vision.
• Tow vehicles to the mechanic shop as requested.
• Remove customer and employee vehicles parked incorrectly or unsafely to the customer lot as requested.
• Perform routine maintenance checks on tow truck and front‑end loader (oil changes, lubes, filter changes, tire changes).
• Operate equipment in compliance with safety regulations.
• Assist lot operations when not operating tow truck and in sale‑day activities.
• Demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures, modelling safe behaviours, and supporting safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
• Run reports to move vehicles into the sale TRA area for auction.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• May be required to work overtime as business needs dictate.

• High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of experience in a related field; or a college degree plus 3 years of experience; or 7 years of experience in a related field.
• Valid driver’s license; safe driver required.
• Pre‑hire physical required for DOT medical card.
• Completion of DOT Driver Qualification file.
• Valid Class C CDL preferred.
• Rollback tow truck experience.
• 1–3 years of experience driving a service/tow truck or front‑end loader.
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to walk long distances.
• Requires regular standing, walking, reaching, talking, and hearing.
• Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, and climb.
• Ability to lift 1–30 pounds.
• Vision skills: close, distance, colour, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions, moderate noise level, occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and electrical shock hazards.

Hourly pay rate is $18.17 – $27.31 /hour, variable within this range based on location and qualifications, with potential additional compensation (commission, incentive programs).

Minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off per month and seven paid holidays per year. Additional paid time off available for bereavement, voting, jury duty, volunteer time, military leave, and parental leave.
