Reports To: Senior Associate Director – Housing Operations

Location: South Campus Commons
- University of Maryland (100% in office position)

Compensation: $21.00-$22.00 per hour and comprehensive benefits package

Summary

The Leasing Coordinator supports all leasing, lease transfer, outreach, and housing process activities for a student apartment community. This role serves as a primary point of contact for prospective and current residents and their stakeholders, while ensuring accurate data management, professional customer service, and successful execution of leasing and marketing initiatives.

The Leasing Coordinator is expected to project a customer-focused, professional image through in-person, online, and telephone interactions with all internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Leasing & Housing Services:
  • Provide accurate information regarding leasing, lease transfers, occupancy policies, and occupancy processes.
  • Conduct leasing and lease transfer appointments, including resident file creation and documentation management.
  • Support resident move-in, move-out, Apartment Selection, and inspection processes.
  • Respond to resident inquiries in a professional and timely manner, escalating complex concern to appropriate staff when necessary.
  • Deliver a positive resident experience through professional in-person, phone, and electronic communication.
  • Assist with community outreach initiatives, information sessions, tours, tabling events, marketing surveys, and special events.
  • Support outreach and retention initiatives through event coordination, publication updates, and community engagement efforts.
  • Maintain awareness of local market trends to support occupancy.
Data Management & Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate resident and leasing records within database management systems, including Entrata, Star Rez, and Docu Sign.
  • Prepare and complete weekly occupancy reports and other operational reporting requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits of resident files and database records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Accounts Manager and other departments to ensure account and billing accuracy.
Office & Administrative Support:
  • Maintain a professional, organized, and welcoming office environment.
  • Support Information Desk operations, and other general administrative functions
  • Assist with special projects and additional operational responsibilities as assigned
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with residents, campus partners, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Communicate professionally with stakeholders via email, phone, and in person
  • Maintain an organized, professional office environment
  • Support reception duties, data entry, file management, and project-based work
  • Perform additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned.

  • 1-2 years entry level experience in college student housing administration or property management leasing operations
  • Experience with campus marketing and assisting with community tours
  • Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment including a photocopier, fax, and telephone. Basic typing and filing skills.
