"The Quantitative Methodology:
Measurement and Statistics (QMMS) program in the Department of Human Development and Quantitative Methodology (HDQM) in the College of Education at the University of Maryland, College Park, is seeking applications for a tenure-track faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor level starting August 2027. Qualifications include an earned doctorate or conferred PhD degree by the start date in an appropriate, related field, exceptionally strong background
in quantitative methods as applied in the education, social, behavioral, and/or biological sciences, evidence of outstanding scholarly research, and interest in participating in collaborative research projects, as well as a strong record of teaching graduate or undergraduate students.

"This position requires expertise in quantitative methodology, with preference for methodologies related to modeling of measurement and causal/structural systems as well as the role of emerging and evolving
artificial intelligence tools within those systems. The individual in this position will also be expected to engage with on-campus communities of university scholars in applications of quantitative methods as well as potential research collaboration with local, state and federal agencies.

"Duties will include
(1) continuation of an advanced and clear line of methodological research,
(2) teaching within the QMMS graduate, and potentially undergraduate, level statistics and measurement course sequences,including advanced specialty courses,
(3) assisting in the development of new programs and coursework,
(4) advising master’s and doctoral students,
(5) involvement in service to the university and to the profession at state, national, and international levels, and
(6) securing and administering external contracts and grants."
