Job Summary
The Department of Finance at the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland, College Park seeks to hire Non Tenure Track Professional Faculty. The appointments will be at the level of Lecturer, Professor of the Practice, or Clinical Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. Applicants are expected to develop and teach high quality courses to undergraduate, MBA, specialty masters, and DBA students, to engage with the appropriate business communities, and to help with aspects of program administration such as admissions, student advising, and placement.
The mix of these responsibilities differs across the ranks and can vary over time. Candidates for the Professor of the Practice position are expected to have the greatest external visibility while candidates for the Lecturer position are expected to have a primary focus on course delivery and development and assist with program administration.
Develop and teach high‑quality courses across undergraduate to doctoral levels; engage with business communities for curriculum relevance; assist with program administration including admissions, student advising, and placement; adapt responsibilities according to rank (e.g., greater external engagement for Professor of the Practice).
Qualifications- Minimum:
Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor positions require a Ph.D. and high visibility in the business community. - All applicants must demonstrate excellent teaching skills in a relevant area of Finance, incorporating the latest research and practice into courses.
- Preferred:
Lecturer with a terminal degree (Ph.D. preferable) and relevant teaching experience at undergraduate or graduate level; prior teaching in a top‑ranked business school and experience in senior corporate leadership valued. - Preferred:
Expertise in business and research applications of AI and emerging technologies. - For Professor of Practice: record of extensive accomplishment in business.
Ability to lift ten lbs.
