Graduate Assistant
The School of Public Health (SPH) undergraduate Center for Academic Success and Achievement (CASA) is looking for a Graduate Assistant. The purpose of CASA is to enhance the academic experience for SPH students and to assist them in achieving their academic, co-curricular, and career goals. Advisors in CASA work with faculty and staff within SPH and across campus to provide accurate and timely information, services, programs, and advising.
Each of our advisors have specific focuses, however we all can answer general questions about each of the 5 SPH majors and University requirements and policies. The CASA GA is a vital member of the team.
Must be enrolled in a UMD graduate program for academic year, preferably in the School of Public Health.

Start Date:
August 2026 - Full-Time Appointment (20 hours per week) on a 12-month appointment
- 20 hours a week in the CASA office required
- Administrative heavy
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with coordination and serve on the three SPH undergraduate committees: SPH Benchmarks Committee & SPH Exception to Policy Committee
- Work with and input sensitive information into advisor programs
- Manage various shared SPH email accounts
- Management of Permission to Enroll Process (PTE)
- Office administrative support as needed
- Complete evaluation of student academic plans, required to know and understand all 5 undergraduate major requirements.
- Running and managing reports and update records
- Communicating with students via phone, zoom, email, and in-person
- Assisting with special events and programs such as: SPH Commencement, Convocation, Orientation, Change of Major workshops, Engagement & Academic Fairs
- Higher education research projects to assist staff with support current projects as needed
- Possibly co-instruct UNIV

- Knowledge of University systems:
Terp Engage, Student Information System (SIS), Qualtrics, Advise on the Web, u.Achieve - Experienced with Google Drive:
Google Sheets, Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Calendars, Google Forms
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a registered graduate student in good standing enrolled in a degree program at the University of Maryland and must be making satisfactory progress toward the degree.
