- Assist lead teachers with developing, preparing, and implementing lesson plans and IEP goals
- Reinforce learning through one-on-one and small group instruction for diverse learners
- Oversee students during non-classroom times, including lunch, recess, and field trips
- Assist with documentation of student progress and parent communication
- Support classroom management, behavioral interventions, and positive reinforcement strategies
- Participate in professional development, conferences, and meetings related to special education
- Passion for working with children with diverse abilities and special needs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills in educational settings
- Commitment to professional growth and development in child education
- Experience or interest in trauma-informed care and behavioral support
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate's degree in education, special education, child development or related field preferred
- Paraprofessional certification a plus
- 2-3 years of experience working with children in an educational setting, particularly with special needs
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques and positive behavioral interventions
