Flight Test Engineer Sr

Description

Flight Test Engineer supporting the F-35B and F-35C aircraft within the F-35 Integrated Test Force, NAS Patuxent River, Maryland. Position will work with military, contractor, and civil service personnel as members of the flight test team.

• Plan, schedule, and execute flight test mission requirements.
• Develop and publish test plans and flight test cards.
• Determine and communicate aircraft test requirements and configuration to responsible engineering, maintenance, instrumentation, and flight operations personnel to ensure aircraft readiness.
• Comply with published test safety plans and standard operating procedures.
• Conduct test missions and perform mission briefs and debriefs.
• Evaluate results from flight activities and incorporate lessons learned into future test activities.

• Bachelor's degree in an accredited related discipline or equivalent experience with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related master’s degree.
• Prior flight test program experience including real‑time mission conduct.
• Demonstrated advanced communication and coordination skills.
• Knowledge of test techniques for modern fighter aircraft.
• Experience with and understanding of the principals of Situational Awareness and Crew Resource Management.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Position requires a U.S. citizen and a Secret level government security clearance. Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain clearance.

Annual base salary range: $85,500 - $150,765. Salary may vary by state and job location.
