Position: Supervisory Interdisciplinary.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the Chief, Work Management Branch in the DPW Business Operations and Integration Division, providing the full range of work management support services for the Directorate.
  • Oversees Sustaining, Restoration and Modernization work reception, classification and tracking for DPW, ensuring work is validated, prioritized, estimated, approved and assigned for execution. Develops plan of execution to meet financial objectives.
  • Serves as a customer point of contact (POC) for all work requirements of the organization.
  • Supervises a workforce involved in the management and execution of engineering and other programs necessary for the sustainment of all installation facilities, infrastructure and grounds.
Conditions of Employment
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one‑year probation to assess supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • This position requires pre‑employment financial disclosure and annual disclosure in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7‑R.
  • This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations. Credit is awarded for all qualifying experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, transcripts will be required.

OPM

Basic Education Requirement, 0800 Series
  • Degree:
    Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in engineering. Acceptable programs: (1) a degree program accredited by ABET; or (2) a program that includes differential and integral calculus and courses more advanced than first‑year physics and chemistry in five of the seven areas: statics/dynamics, strength of materials, fluid mechanics/hydraulics, thermodynamics, electrical fields and circuits, materials science, or another comparable area. Transcripts required.
Combination of

Education and Experience
  • College‑level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnishes a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and a good understanding of the engineering sciences and techniques. Adequacy demonstrated by:
  • Professional registration or licensure as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensed Professional Engineer (PE) by a State, DC, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
  • Successful passage of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination or other professional registration written test.
  • Completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences including the specified courses.
  • Completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate scientific field (e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology) with at least one year of professional engineering experience under supervision.
Specialized Experience

One year of specialized experience that includes: (1) Program/project management activities such as developing procedures for optimal utilization of personnel, funds, and equipment; preparing engineering cost estimates; strategic planning; establishing project milestones; etc.; (2) Analyzing priorities and/or requirements for a program/project; and (3) Creating maintenance plans using automated work management systems.

Education – Foreign Qualification

If using foreign education, credentials must have been evaluated by a private organization specializing in foreign education interpretation, and deemed equivalent to an accredited U.S. program. Full credit for U.S. accredited courses can also be accepted.

Additional Information
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre‑Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • Submission of a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 450) upon entry and annually thereafter.
  • One‑year supervisory probationary period may be required.
