Intelligent Automation, a Blue Halo Company is hiring a mid-level Research Scientist in Computer Vision and Machine Learning. This is a full‑time role located in Derwood as part of the REMS Group.
Job OverviewThe REMS Group at Intelligent Automation, Inc. (IAI) is looking for an outstanding self‑motivated researcher with a MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, with a background in computer vision, robotics, and machine learning. The role involves developing custom solutions for customers in video analytics, robotics, autonomy, human‑machine interface, AI, and electromechanical system integration.
Responsibilities- Conduct research and development in computer vision and image processing.
- Develop software to train and use machine learning frameworks.
- Design, implement, and integrate computer vision and machine learning algorithms and prototypes.
- Interact with and support multiple research teams.
- Support program management and business development by writing reports/papers, contributing to proposals, and presenting to customers.
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 4 years of hands‑on experience in research, engineering, or research & development.
- Proficiency in C++, MATLAB, and Python.
- Experience with computer vision techniques such as object recognition, segmentation, and classification.
- Experience with deep learning and other machine learning methods.
- Ability to write clean, efficient, well‑documented code.
- Proficient technical writing and strong communication skills.
- Familiarity with computer vision libraries (e.g., OpenCV).
- US Citizen or US Permanent Resident (Green Card).
- Strong publication record in computer vision, particularly object detection and tracking, object recognition, machine learning, and robotic vision.
- Solid background in programming.
- Strong communication, presentation, and writing skills.
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary team.
