Job Description Summary
The IT Systems Analyst (Financial Data Engineering Analyst) provides technical and analytical support for information technology systems, applications, and business processes. This role works with stakeholders to analyze business needs, recommend technology solutions, and support the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of systems that enhance operational efficiency and service delivery. The IT Systems Analyst helps troubleshoot technical issues, document system processes, and contribute to continuous improvement of IT services and solutions.
Responsibilities- Analyze business processes and user needs to identify technology solutions that support operational and strategic goals.
- Gather, document, and translate functional requirements into technical specifications.
- Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate with technical teams to resolve problems and ensure system reliability.
- Assist with system upgrades, enhancements, integrations, and data management activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Experience: Three (3) years of professional experience in information technology. (Up to four (4) years of additional work experience may be substituted for each year of the required education.)
- Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Knowledge of business analysis principles and system support practices.
- Problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working with enterprise systems, databases, reporting tools, or integrations.
- Documentation and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a collaborative environment.
- Ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Ability to analyze data, processes, and system functionality.
- Preferences: Master’s Degree in Analytics, Information Systems, and/or Computer Science or relevant work experience with strong preference for experience working with University of Maryland data; experience with PowerBI and dashboard development.

CompensationSalary Range: $103,100 - $123,720.
