The RoleWe are looking for a Salesforce Administrator, Federal to join our Revenue Operations team. As a Salesforce Administrator, you will be part of a cross-functional team whose mission is to lead IonQ on its journey to build the world's best quantum computers to solve the world's most complex problems.
In this role, you will own the health, configuration, and compliance posture of IonQ's Salesforce Government Cloud environment supporting our federal business. You will provision and govern access, deliver enhancements, and keep the platform audit-ready against federal control frameworks. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on administrator who is meticulous about access control and data integrity, comfortable operating in a regulated environment, and able to work independently in a fast‑moving, resource‑constrained team.
Responsibilities- Own and administer IonQ's Salesforce Government Cloud org, ensuring the environment is configured correctly, segmented from commercial orgs, and continuously aligned to FedRAMP and CUI handling requirements.
- Provision and deprovision user access, managing profiles, permission sets, roles, and license assignments in line with least‑privilege and federal access‑governance standards.
- Build and deliver enhancements using declarative tools (flows, validation rules, record types, page layouts, dynamic forms) and coordinate managed‑package and integration changes within Gov Cloud constraints.
- Design, build, and maintain reports and dashboards that give federal sales, operations, and compliance stakeholders accurate, timely visibility into pipeline and activity.
- Perform routine platform maintenance including data‑quality management, deduplication, sandbox and release management, and evaluation of seasonal Salesforce updates before they reach production.
- Support Salesforce Shield controls (platform encryption, event monitoring, field audit trail) and produce the access reviews and evidence required for CMMC, NIST 800‑171, and internal audit.
- Manage the intake queue for federal Salesforce requests, triaging, prioritizing, and resolving issues against agreed service levels.
- Gather requirements from federal stakeholders, translate them into configuration or solution designs, and lead UAT before deployment.
- Maintain documentation, runbooks, and configuration standards so the environment stays supportable and transferable.
- Serve as the subject‑matter expert for federal Salesforce, advising on best practices and partnering with security, trade compliance, and IT on ITAR and CUI data‑handling questions.
- 7+ years of professional experience as a Salesforce administrator, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Active Salesforce Administrator certification (ADM-201) and demonstrated mastery of the declarative platform, including the security model, permission sets, flows, report types, and page layouts.
- Hands‑on experience administering Salesforce in a regulated or compliance‑driven environment, with working knowledge of access governance and audit support.
- Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident) and able to meet the requirements for handling CUI and working within a Salesforce Government Cloud / FedRAMP environment.
