Bilingual Office Assistant (English/Spanish)
The City of College Park is seeking an enthusiastic, customer-focused Bilingual Office Assistant to join the Department of Youth, Family, and Senior Services. This full-time position is ideal for a highly organized professional who is fully fluent in both English and Spanish and enjoys serving a diverse community.
As the first point of contact for residents, families, seniors, and community partners, you will play a vital role in ensuring that City information, services, and programs are accessible to both English- and Spanish-speaking residents. We are looking for someone who can communicate confidently, professionally, and compassionately in both languages while providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Welcome and assist residents and visitors in person and by telephone in English and Spanish.
- Provide accurate information about City programs, services, events, and resources.
- Respond to inquiries and connect residents with appropriate staff or service providers.
- Perform recordkeeping, data entry, document scanning, and filing.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, and other administrative documents.
- Support department staff with a variety of administrative and office functions.
- Help ensure timely and consistent communication with the community across both languages.
The successful candidate will possess:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of administrative or office support experience.
- Full bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing required).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record, and reliable transportation.
The starting hourly range is $22.61- $23.75, depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits, including Maryland State Retirement.
