The Software Architecture and Engineering Team is responsible for building custom software with best engineering practices, and leading software development and delivery efforts for the organization. A Software Engineer has hands-on design and implementation experience developing and supporting software products. They have broad familiarity with software engineering implementation, with strong hands-on expertise in either front-end or back-end software development (both preferred).

They are familiar with the Software Development Live Cycle and working with Agile Product development teams, with some experience developing and working with data.

Key Responsibilities:

• Hands-on experience with at least 2 different programming languages (i.e. Java, Node/JavaScript, C#, Python, Perl).
• Hands-on experience with at least 1 database (i.e. Postgres, MSSQL, Oracle, Maria
  
  DB/MySQL, Mongo
  
  DB, Redis).
• Hands-on experience with at least 1 User Interface Frameworks (i.e. Bootstrap, JQuery, Vue, Next) preferred.
• Understands APIs, Microservices, and/or Server-Client application interactions and design, with hands-on experience in at least one of those areas.
• Full Stack Software Developers preferred.

• Secret or Top Secret clearance.
• At least 3 years of software engineering experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in the commercial industry sector preferred.
• At least 1 year participating in code reviews for a team preferred.
• At least 1 year of hands-on coding experience in each of 2 of the following programming languages: C/C++, C#, Java, Go, NodeJS, JavaScript/Type Script, Python, Perl, PHP.
• At least 6 months of hands-on coding experience designing and implementing databases and database schemas for a production software system (i.e. Postgres, MSSQL, Oracle, Maria
  
  DB/MySQL, Mongo
  
  DB, Redis).
• At least 1 year of hands-on coding experience building and deploying production containerized software applications for either Docker, Docker Swarm, Kubernetes, or Open Shift (or similar).
• At least 1 year of hands-on coding experience with either React
  
  JS or Angular (or a similar front-end framework)(experience with React
  
  JS preferred) preferred.
• At least 1 year of hands-on coding experience with Data Caches, Data Indexes, Data Streams, or Data Queues (experience in all of these preferred) preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience developing and deploying production software applications in at least one of the following cloud providers: AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure.
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience designing and implementing Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).
• Experience in using automated test harnesses and testing frameworks, and authoring Test Suites, for both unit tests, and for automated functional/integration tests, to be used within CI/CD pipelines and other automated development environments, preferred.
