- One Year Only starting in the school year. This assignment is posted for internal and external consideration. Interested internal candidates must apply online by 4:00 pm Friday, April 24, 2026. Job Title: CTE Middle School Teacher
- One Year Only
Reports to: Assigned Building Principal
Bargaining Group: WWVEA
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position: 8 hours per day, 187 days per school year (10 months)
Salary: $58,977 - $114,490 (educational incentive available in accordance with applicable collective bargaining agreement)
Benefits: Medical/Dental/Vision, FSA/DCAP, Life/AD&D through SEBB; retirement through DRS for eligible employees
Additional Benefits: Optional 403(b) retirement plan;
Optional DCP (deferred compensation program) retirement plan
Leave: 12 sick days (pro-rated for mid-year hires)
Required Qualifications- Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate.
- Preference for applicants who currently hold a Washington Career and Technical Education Teaching Certificate. Applicants who are not certified must have the ability to obtain the certificate and are encouraged to apply.
- Successful experience as a CTE Teacher/teaching.
- Successful experience designing and implementing youth leadership programs.
- Successful experience managing and leading complex collaborative projects.
- Interest and experience with extra-curricular and co-curricular coaching or advising assignments, including Career and Technical Student Organizations.
- Be learner-centered.
- Plan and implement problems/projects in all aspects of the subject matter.
- Participate as a team member in cross-curricular problems/projects.
- Utilize technologies as a standard for all instruction.
- Be able to relay humor and positive regard to students and colleagues.
- Work cooperatively with all students and their parents.
- Be able to connect students to their community.
- Be eager to implement changes that will enhance student learning.
- Be expected to attend planning/team building work sessions with other middle school staff.
- Proactively communicate with the district's Career and Technical Education Director.
- Other duties as assigned.
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands:
- Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling.
- Generally, the job requires:
- ~5% lifting ~40 lbs.
- ~55% of the work day standing, reaching, bending, stooping, walking
- ~40% of the time working from a sitting position
- This job is performed under temperature variations consistent with indoor and outdoor temperatures.
- This job may require interaction with students displaying aggression, non-compliance, and other conduct problems.
