Job Description

Applications are being accepted for a Transitional Bilingual Instructional Program (TBIP) Secretary at the high school. This assignment is open for internal and external consideration. Job Title: Transitional Bilingual Instructional Program (TBIP) Secretary

Reports to: TBIP Supervisor or Designee

Bargaining Group: ESE of CP

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position: 3.5 hours per day, 130 days per year (10 months)

Salary: $24.31 – $30.35 per hour (educational incentive available under applicable collective bargaining agreement)

Benefits: Optional 403(b) retirement plan;

Leave: 9 sick days (pro‑rated for mid‑year hires), 9 paid holidays

Required Qualifications

  • Skill to manage multiple tasks and projects

Additional

Skills:

Bilingual/biliterate in Spanish is required. District tests will verify skill levels.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Maintain student records including health, attendance, grades, schedules, and all other district and state information required for each enrolled student.
  • Maintain staff information by tracking absences and substitute reporting for payroll purposes.
  • Organize work by reading and routing correspondence, collecting information, and initiating communication as needed to facilitate the education process.
  • Serve individuals by answering questions, scheduling appointments, and facilitating needs of students, staff, community, and administrators.
  • Perform health room tasks as needed (e.g., dispensation of prescribed medicines and first aid services).
  • Maintain office supplies inventory, anticipate needed supplies, place and expedite orders, verify receipt, and communicate with the business office.
  • Maintain financial security by following internal accounting controls when processing revenue received in the school building.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly working environment and follow safe work practices.
  • Protect the District by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational trainings.
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed or requested.
Working Conditions
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling.
  • Approximately 5% lifting (~40 lbs).
  • ~55% of the workday standing, reaching, bending, stooping, walking.
  • ~40% of the time working from a sitting position.
  • Work efficiently, effectively, and timely.
  • Produce accurate, neat, and thorough work.
  • Be reliable, trustworthy, and require minimal supervision.
  • Interact and communicate with others respectfully, courteously, and cooperatively.
  • Maintain adaptability, being positive, versatile, and flexible.
