Job Description

Supporting the CP Way by planning, implementing, and evaluating classroom instructional activities to create exceptional outcomes for College Place Elementary School students and staff.

Required Qualifications
  • Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsement(s)
  • Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and families from diverse cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
  • Demonstrated instructional expertise and classroom management skills
  • Strong understanding of educational technology, digital citizenship, and technology integration
Preferred Qualifications
  • Successful experience teaching elementary technology
  • Experience with educational technology platforms and instructional technology integration
  • Experience with coding, robotics, STEM, and project‑based learning
  • Bilingual/Biliterate in Spanish
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Develop and Lead a Comprehensive K‑5 Technology Program
    • Design and implement a vertically aligned K‑5 technology curriculum.
    • Align instruction with district priorities, state standards, and ISTE Standards for Students.
    • Create a clear progression of technology skills and experiences across grade levels.
    • Balance foundational technology skills, creativity, innovation, problem‑solving, and digital citizenship.
    • Continuously evaluate and refine the program based on student needs and emerging technologies.
  • Provide High‑Quality Technology Instruction
    • Plan and deliver engaging, standards‑based technology lessons to all students.
    • Differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
    • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes active participation and creativity.
    • Manage instruction effectively across multiple grade levels and developmental stages.
    • Establish and maintain standards of student behavior that support learning and responsible technology use.
  • Integrate Technology into Academic Learning
    • Collaborate with classroom teachers to connect technology instruction to curriculum.
    • Design technology‑rich learning experiences that support literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, and other content areas.
    • Help students use technology to communicate ideas, solve problems, conduct research, and demonstrate learning.
    • Support school and district improvement goals through effective technology integration.
  • Teach Digital Citizenship and Responsible Technology Use
    • Provide developmentally appropriate instruction in online safety, privacy and security, cyberbullying prevention, media literacy, digital ethics, and responsible use of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
    • Model positive digital behaviors and responsible technology use.
    • Help students develop critical‑thinking skills when interacting with digital content and AI‑generated information.
  • Develop Foundational Technology Skills
    • Keyboarding and typing proficiency, basic computer operations, Google Workspace applications.
