Nutrition Services Kitchen Assistant

Position:
Up to 5.5 hours per day;
The number of days or hours that a food services substitute works is dependent upon the number of regular employees who are absent on any given day. No specific guarantee of work is offered.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must demonstrate sufficient command of the English language to communicate verbally and in writing with students, parents, district staff members and other concerned people regarding all aspects of their job related activities
  • Valid Food Handler's Card

Working Conditions:

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands:

  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling.
  • Generally, the job requires:
    • ~ 10% lifting ~ 40 lbs.
    • ~ 80% of the work day standing, reaching, bending, stooping, walking
    • ~ 10% of the time working from a sitting position
  • This job is performed under temperature variations consistent with indoor and outdoor temperatures.
  • This job may require interaction with students displaying aggression, non-compliance, and other conduct problems.
