* Serves as the primary advisor to the Aggie Parent & Family Ambassador (APFA) student organization and provides support for the day-to-day functioning of the organization.
* Responsibilities include supporting the recruitment of new student leaders, attending weekly meetings, maintaining student organization records, and assisting with the monitoring of fiscal
* activities.
* Serves as the supervisor to the Lead Aggie Parent & Family Ambassadors, including the selection, training, and supervision of these student employees.
* During the summer, serves as the supervisor for the New Student Conferences en Español Student Interpreter team and provides secondary advising support to the Aggie Orientation Leader student organization.
* Provides support and resources to the families of undergraduate students from orientation through graduation.
* Assists with programmatic support for New Student Conferences, Family Weekend, and other orientation, transition, and retention initiatives grounded in student development theory; specifically related to parents and family members.
* Oversee the coordination of the Parents of the Year Program, including communication and engagement efforts with current and former Parents of the Year.
* Supports the exploration and coordination of parent and family programming initiatives informed by benchmarking and best practices.
* Assists with the development and implementation of office-wide programs such as Howdy Week and other orientation, transition, and retention initiatives.
* Assists with components of the Parent and Family Communication Plan, including creating and designing content for the Aggie Parent & Family Connection in alignment with Texas A&M Brand Standards.
* Serves on University, Division of Student Affairs, and Department committees and task forces, as assigned.
* Maintains an active role in professional associations and organizations related to Parent and Family Programs and orientation.
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* One or more years of experience in student affairs work or related specialty.
* Master’s degree in Student Affairs or other related field
* Related experience in Student Affairs or other related field
* Knowledge of the transitional needs and experiences of students and their family members
* Experience with student organization advising
* Experience with large-scale program planning and development
* Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Willingness to work as a part of a team
