Position Overview
The Department of History in the College of Arts and Sciences at Texas A&M University invites applications for a full‑time, 9‑month appointment, tenure‑track Assistant Professor of U.S. History (any period) with expertise at the intersection of law and science, technology, or medicine. The position will begin in the fall of 2026. We seek a scholar whose research complements and enhances existing departmental strengths and broadens our intellectual and methodological diversity.
Candidates should demonstrate a record of, or clear potential for, significant scholarly contributions in areas such as legal history, and histories of science, technology, medicine, public health, or related fields situated within U.S. historical contexts. The successful candidate will maintain an ambitious, productive research agenda, teach two courses per semester, recruit and train outstanding students, and participate in university and professional affairs.

• Ph.D. in History, or a related field.
• Expertise at the intersection of law and science, technology, or medicine and a research agenda that enhances departmental strengths.
• Demonstrated record or clear potential for significant scholarly contributions in U.S. legal history, science and technology history, medical history, public health history, or related fields.
• Ability to teach two courses per semester, recruit and train outstanding students, and engage in university and professional affairs.
