What We Want

The Student Developmental Specialist III for Education & Outreach is responsible for supporting the oversight, advising, and administration of programs and services for recognized student organizations at Texas A&M University as a member of Student Activities in the Student Organization Leadership and Development (SOLAD) team. This position coordinates proactive student organization education and risk management programs, guides area outreach and communication efforts, facilitates training and presentation development and implementation for the student organization community, and provides oversight and expertise to area instructional design efforts.

In addition, this position supports SOLAD administrative review processes in event planning, student organization recognition, organization accountability, and other area services, supervises a graduate assistant, and serves as an advisor for a department-assigned recognized student organization.

Salary: $59,512/year

Professional Development:
May be eligible for up to $3,200.00/year of departmental funding for professional development opportunities and conference attendance.

Responsibilities

Program Administration - Organization Education

* Supports the strategic planning and coordination of student organization education through the development and implementation of programs, activities, and resources for student organization leaders and advisors. Evaluate existing programs to ensure they are up-to-date and effective, and implement revisions and updates as needed. Coordinate efforts to enhance and expand educational offerings based upon assessment and evaluation of the changing needs of the student organization community as well as researched best practices and internal and external support mechanisms.

Program Administration - Organization Outreach

* Coordinate outreach strategies for the student organization community to build positive connections between SOLAD and its constituents and to facilitate increased communication and collaboration between organization leaders and advisors. Utilize feedback gathered through outreach and assessment to inform the revision of SOLAD policies and practices and the development of additional programs and resources for organization support. Oversee area efforts to engage in proactive staff outreach through direct and individualized student organization contact and consultation.

Facilitate marketing and promotion of SOLAD programs and resources and the development of SOLAD newsletters and online resources.

Program Administration - Organization Training Programs

* Coordinate training programs and events for student organization leaders, advisors, and stakeholders across campus. Facilitate the annual Advisor Summit training and networking program, presentations and consultations for organizations and campus constituents, virtual learning opportunities for student leaders and advisors, and other similar programming. Explore future opportunities for enhanced in-person training programs to guide further growth and expand options for the student organization community.
