Scholastic Supervisor, Women's Basketball

Responsibilities
  • Provide academic support, guidance, and mentorship to student‑athletes from admission through graduation.
  • Develop individualized academic plans and monitor progress, offering intervention strategies as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with student‑athletes, coaches, staff, and faculty to keep all parties informed of academic status.
  • Coordinate Life Skills programming, including events and seminars to assist with the transition to college life.
  • Assist in recruiting efforts by evaluating transcripts, scheduling academic presentations, and facilitating tours.
  • Serve on department and university committees, representing the Athletics Department at all campus and athletic levels.
  • Participate in the development, enforcement, and communication of academic policies, NCAA rules, and institutional regulations for student‑athletes.
  • Support and promote Student‑Athlete Engagement events and seminars.
  • Engage in professional development and leadership opportunities.
  • Maintain continual familiarity with NCAA, conference, and university rules and enforce compliance with conduct, appearance, punctuality, and other standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years of athletic academic advising or administrative experience at the collegiate, high school, or junior college level.
  • Demonstrated ability to use computer and technology skills for communication, data management, and record‑keeping.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to student development and collaboration with faculty and staff.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in higher education, counseling, or related field.
  • Three to five (3‑5) years of experience in athletic academic advising or administration.
  • Knowledge of NCAA academic rules, including PTD, APR, and GSR requirements.
Skills & Abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible, non‑traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Occasional travel for recruitment and committee activities.
