The College of Information – Department of Information Science at the University of North Texas (UNT) invites applications for a tenure‑track Assistant/Associate Professor position to begin in Spring 2023. We seek exceptional candidates with interests in theoretical, machine learning, and computational foundations of data science.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral level Data Science courses.
- Design and deliver courses in a variety of formats, including online and hybrid modalities.
- Conduct research and provide service in an academic position with emphasis on Data Science.
- Advise students in Data Science research, work closely with doctoral students, and serve on dissertation committees.
- Record of research accomplishments in data science theory, machine learning, or computational foundations.
- Ability to design and deliver courses in various formats.
- Experience advising students and serving on graduate level committees.
- Associate Professor rank or higher candidates with outstanding academic credentials and ability to conduct independent world‑class research and attract external funding.
This is a nine‑month, full‑time, tenure‑track position.
