Job DescriptionGlimpse of the Job The College of Arts and Sciences at Texas A M University is hiring a new Undergraduate Student Success Program Coordinator II! As a Program Coordinator II for Undergraduate Student Success, you will help to lead the coordination, development, and implementation of innovative programs such as First 2 Finish, Regents’ Scholars, Leadership Scholars, or the Hullabaloo U program within the College of Arts Sciences.
You will play a pivotal role in championing the success of Arts Sciences undergraduates, particularly first-generation students, by guiding them in acquiring essential academic, social, and professional skills. You will have the opportunity to oversee first year and multi-year programming, ensuring that students receive comprehensive support throughout their academic journey. Your guidance and expertise will be instrumental in fostering an environment where students can thrive and achieve their full potential.

Note:
This is an in-person position. The selected candidate will be expected to work on our College Station campus. This role will require occasional evening and weekend hours and will require occasional travel for student programming.
- Coordinate and support undergraduate student success programs focused on first-year retention and student engagement.
- Assist with developing and updating training materials for student success initiatives.
- Collect and provide program data for reports and progress tracking.
- Support strategic planning and short- and long-term goal setting.
- Participate in professional development related to student success and retention.
- Assist with designing and implementing transition and retention initiatives based on higher education best practices.
- Evaluate and assess the effectiveness of student success programs.
- Assist in preparing reports on programming activities and outcomes.
- Build and maintain relationships with campus partners and departments.
- Respond to questions regarding program policies, procedures, and requirements.
- Maintain program information and data using university systems and portals.
- Partner with faculty, academic advisors, and student support programs to enhance student success.
- Coordinate student mentor recruitment, hiring, training, placement, and evaluation.
- Provide guidance and support to peer mentors throughout each semester.
Potential option to teach one Hullabaloo U course section annually.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree
- Four years of program management experience including some course management and academic counseling
- A well-qualified candidate may also possess:
- Master’s degree.
- More than five years of experience in program management including some course management, academic counseling, and classroom instruction.
- Familiarity with TAMU portals, such as Argos, Navigate, etc.
- Ability to cultivate and maintain strong professional working relationships and a positive work environment.
- Ability to work with people and be helpful, respectful, approachable, and team oriented.
- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
