The Regional Advisor II plays a pivotal role in connecting prospective students with opportunities at Texas A&M University. This position leads the development and implementation of admissions, financial aid, and early outreach strategies designed to identify, engage, recruit, and enroll future Aggies. In addition to fostering meaningful relationships with students, families, and educational partners, the Regional Advisor II serves as a mentor and trainer for team members and provides leadership for key recruitment initiatives and programs.

What you need to knowSalary: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 (Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire's experience)
Position DetailsThis position is based in Los Angeles, California and will require the employee to report to work locations in the Los Angeles area. Extensive travel required in assigned recruiting territory. Evenings and weekend work required. Multiple trips per year to Texas A&M
- College Station will be required for training and assisting with large recruiting events. Must be self-motivated with the ability to coordinate and attend meetings and conferences at times beyond usual working hours. This position is not eligible for an alternative work location (AWL).

Education and Experience: - Bachelor's degree.
- Two years of related experience in student services, admissions, recruitment, or financial aid.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- A driver's license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment.
- Master's degree.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
- More than two years of professional experience in higher education admissions, recruitment, student advising, student financial aid or student services related position.
- Professional experience in higher education.
- Professional experience within TAMUS.
- Customer service experience, particularly within higher education.
- Working experience in admissions, recruitment, or financial aid.
- Experience in giving presentations to large groups.
- Experience in producing reports of the analysis and evaluation of activities.
- Participation in Texas Association for College Admission Counseling (TACAC) or Texas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (TACRAO) programs or other professional organizations related to admissions, recruitment, student advising, student financial aid or student services.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic project management and organizational practices.
- Demonstrated knowledge of principles, practice and methods of admissions, marketing and enrollment.
- General knowledge of higher education institution general academic requirements and admission policies.
- General knowledge of the principles, practices, methods and techniques of customer service.
- Proficiency in related student information systems such as Banner, AIS, Howdy, MOSES, SLATE, or TAMUDocs.
- Ability to design, develop, conduct, and assess effective programs.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work activities.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to develop and conduct group presentations for various audiences.
Ability to work in an environment subject to regular interruptions, multi-tasking and re-prioritizing potentially conflicting assignments. - Familiarity with the assigned territory as it relates to university admissions and recruitment.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of financial aid programs and federal regulations relating to student financial aid.
- Working knowledge of standard office equipment and computers.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal, and written communication skills with individuals or in a group setting.
- Must possess strong organization skills.
- Ability to work well with students and parents.
- Ability to work as a team member in a dynamic organization, possessing a positive attitude and is customer-service oriented.
- Must be literate in the English language and able to comprehend and follow both written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to perform accurately in a detail-oriented environment with good interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a team environment.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
