The GCS Engineer leads the establishment and maintenance of CAD and design standards, focusing on elevating the quality of 3D offer packages. This role involves developing shop drawings and project designs, supporting both prospective and active projects, and driving continuous improvement in internal standards, product knowledge, and build methodologies. The position requires a blend of technical design expertise and strong client-facing communication skills.
Responsibilities- Develop detailed 2D and 3D designs, layouts, elevations, and renderings using AutoCAD and Revit, ensuring adherence to drafting standards.
- Prepare and update draft and final drawings, maintaining dimensional accuracy and structural coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
- Implement and uphold revision control practices for all production drawings and update plan sets based on manufacturing redlines and as-built conditions.
- Record and prepare updates for Engineer of Record review, including third-party inspection sets and final as-built drawings.
- Ensure all product datasheets are current and accurately reflect product offerings, supporting design-for-manufacturability initiatives.
- Serve as a primary client contact during pre-sale and design phases, building strong relationships and incorporating client feedback into deliverables.
- Prepare technical submittal packages in line with construction industry standards and utilize CRM systems to track product inquiries and client engagement.
- Continuously improve pre-sale and design office procedures to enhance the customer experience and support internal process improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Technology, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience using design software in a technical or construction environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Revit and intermediate to advanced knowledge of AutoCAD (including AutoCAD Electrical).
- Strong ability to read, interpret, and work from technical drawings, with knowledge of design for manufacturability principles.
- Basic understanding of Lean manufacturing initiatives and cleanroom envelope design standards, regulations, and cost structures.
- Ability to develop construction-standard technical submittal packages and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Proficiency in CRM systems (Hub Spot preferred) and strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English;
French proficiency is a plus. Ability to present technical information clearly to diverse stakeholders.
