Project Manager – Water/Wastewater Infrastructure (College Station, Texas)
OverviewThe Project Manager will lead a team of multi‑disciplinary design engineers and CAD technicians to produce design‑phase deliverables related to water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including reports, studies, technical memoranda, design manuals, plans, details and specifications. The role requires close collaboration with clients to ensure expectations of service are exceeded.
Responsibilities- Design and manage projects for water distribution – pump stations, storage facilities, distribution mains
- Design and manage projects for wastewater collection – lift stations, force mains, gravity sewers
- Pipeline inspection and rehabilitation
- Water and wastewater master planning
- Coordinate with other support disciplines, regional offices and regulatory agencies
- Perform quality assurance and quality control
- Travel as needed for projects, conferences and other duties
- Develop project budgets, scope of work, level of effort and man‑hour estimates
- Manage multiple projects concurrently and lead the team on schedule and budget
- Conduct written and oral project reporting for clients and Team Leader (status, milestones, accounting, progress)
- Prepare and execute Quality Assurance and Quality Control Plans
- Lead internal and external project workshops
- Oversee construction management for local projects (excluding construction observation)
- Drive continuing education and team learning initiatives
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering from an ABET‑accredited program
- Six or more years of similar technical experience
- Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any state and willing to obtain NCEES records for multiple states
- Experience leading design of detailed plans and specifications for water and wastewater projects
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles related to water and wastewater infrastructure
- Basic understanding of multi‑disciplinary practices (process, surveying, geotechnical, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation & control)
- Excellent communication skills
- Passion for client service and the water industry
- Strong work ethic
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook
- Water and wastewater consulting experience
- Experience with ESRI ArcGIS
- Experience with Autodesk Revit
