Position PurposeResponsible for implementing cashiering policies, coordinating teller operations, ensuring a fluid teller line, providing training, and delivering excellent customer service across all channels.
Responsibilities- Ensure teller functions are performed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with bank policies and security procedures.
- Coordinate distribution of teller work, assign positions, and monitor workflow.
- Resolve teller inquiries, address complex transactions, and guide teller judgment on cashing and checks.
- Investigate and correct teller out-of-balance conditions and support error-reduction processes.
- Prepare receipts for deposits, loan payments, and other teller transactions.
- Maintain inventory of negotiable instruments (cashier’s checks, money orders, travelers checks, etc.).
- Support teller needs for new accounts and provide backup support as required.
- Perform teller cash handling and denormalization functions, and secure all money at day end.
- Deliver customer service in line with bank standards, resolve complaints, present products, and cross-sell banking services.
- Lead and train teller staff, establish performance expectations, and conduct performance reviews.
- Maintain a professional bank image, protect customer privacy, and uphold the bank’s reputation.
- Assist in opening and closing procedures, vault and alarm duties, and general clerical tasks.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2.5 years of successful teller experience; equivalent or higher experience preferred.
- Proficient with teller operations, bank security, and cash-handling procedures.
- Basic accounting knowledge, strong math skills, and proficiency with Windows and Excel.
- Excellent communication, leadership, supervisory, and customer-service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to train and motivate staff.
- Good judgement and sound decision-making abilities.
Monday – Friday: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM;
Saturday: 8:15 AM – 1:15 PM. (40 hours per week)
