** Position Information
**** Responsibilities:
*** Establish and facilitate local working relationships to foster watershed-based plan development and implementation to restore water quality in targeted areas across the state
* Facilitate, coordinate, and collaborate with watershed stakeholders to relay information and develop watershed management strategies to restore water quality
* Facilitate, coordinate, and collaborate with stakeholders to develop key partnerships and programs for future acquisition of funding and delivery of programs.
* Work to identify programmatic and educational issues to meet water related needs of stakeholders for future project development and educational materials development
* Gather and assess watershed-based data to establish a needed understanding of current conditions to convey to stakeholders
* Manage project activities to ensure timely completion of deliverables, efficient spending and effective project completion
* Maintain effective communication with TWRI administration regarding research initiatives and project development
* Represent TWRI at local, national, and international meetings to disseminate research findings and network with peers in the field
* Work with TAMUS administration and faculty; research and Extension personnel; federal and state agencies; non-profit organizations; personnel with other universities, centers, and institutes; and other partnerships to plan and develop projects and grant proposals to address critical Texas water issues
* Support other related water management programs underway or under development at the TWRI
* Provide support to TWRI workshops and meetings across the state
* Mentor TWRI students to support project activities
* Other duties as assigned.

* Required Qualifications:

*** Bachelor’s degree in Hydrology, Water Management, Natural Resources, Agricultural Science or closely related field
*
* Preferred Qualifications:

*** Masters degree in degree in Hydrology, Water Management, Agricultural Science or closely related field
* At least two years of project/program management experience including experience with watershed management, planning, implementation, education and outreach development and delivery, or related activities
* Ability to obtain valid Texas Driver’s License
** Other Requirements:
*** Excellent written and verbal communication and information delivery skills
* Excellent organizational and task management skills
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
* Ability to exert heavy force
* Ability to interact effectively with various groups including the public, agricultural interests, city and county officials, non-profit and environmental advocacy organizations, river authorities and water resource personnel from Land Grant Universities and state and federal agencies
* Ability to travel statewide as necessary to perform job duties
* Ability to work beyond normal business hours as job duties require

** This position is grant funded and availability is contingent on grant funding.
