Medical Laboratory Scientist II - Night Shift College Station, TX

A highly regarded healthcare system in College Station, Texas, is seeking a certified Medical Laboratory Scientist II to join its laboratory team on a night shift (7-on/7-off) schedule. This opportunity is ideal for lab professionals who are ASCP-certified (or equivalent) and have at least one year of hands-on experience in a clinical setting. Schedule: 7-on/7-off 8:00 PM - 6:30 AM Night Shift

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and analyze a comprehensive range of laboratory tests according to departmental procedures and regulatory standards
  • Report accurate and timely test results to support effective patient diagnosis and treatment
  • Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to ensure operational excellence
  • Follow strict quality control and infection prevention policies
  • Maintain supply inventory and contribute to efficient lab operations
  • Communicate clearly with team members and external departments to ensure seamless workflows
  • Assist in training new lab personnel and contribute to ongoing education initiatives

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field, or 4+ years of qualifying work experience beyond the minimum
  • Experience: At least 1 year of generalist laboratory experience in a clinical setting is required
  • Certification: Must hold valid certification from one of the following organizations:
  • American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
  • American Medical Technologists (AMT)
  • American Association of Bioanalysts (AAB)
  • American Board of Histocompatibility (ABHI)
  • Grandfathered HEW Licensee accepted
  • Additional accepted credentials: CLS, MT, MLS, SCT, SCYM, CHS-ABHI, CHT-ABHI, SMB
