Our client is seeking an experienced On-Site Service Engineer (OSE) to support enterprise data center and server environments, including next-generation AI platforms.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing role focused on maintaining uptime, resolving complex hardware issues, and delivering outstanding on-site service.
Prior AI experience is not required. Strong data center and server fundamentals are what matter most.
What You'll Do- Provide on-site support for Dell server and data center systems, ensuring rapid issue resolution and minimal downtime.
- Perform hardware maintenance, including server builds, swaps, component replacements, and firmware updates.
- Troubleshoot system issues across hardware, firmware, and operating systems, escalating when appropriate.
- Support both reactive and preventive maintenance following established procedures.
- Collaborate with internal teams and customers during service events to ensure clear communication and timely resolution.
- Document work performed and contribute to shared knowledge and best practices.
- Participate in on-call rotations and support extended coverage when needed.
- Experience supporting servers or data center hardware in a field, enterprise, or customer-facing environment.
- Hands-on experience with server components, including CPUs, memory, power supplies, GPUs, and related hardware.
- Familiarity with Linux or similar operating systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently on-site and communicate clearly with customers.
- Willingness to learn and support emerging technologies, including AI platforms.
- 3-5+ years of experience in technical support, field service, or data center roles.
- Associate or bachelor's degree in IT or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Dell or other relevant vendor certifications are a plus but not required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to travel to customer sites.
- Flexibility to support shift and on-call schedules.

Proximity and Availability- Lives locally, ideally within 15-45 minutes of the work site.
- Comfortable with the daily commute.
- Willing to work shifts and participate in an on-call rotation.
- Hands-on experience with server hardware, including CPUs, memory, power supplies, GPUs, and server builds.
- Experience with server swaps and deployments.
- Experience replacing server components, including CPUs, memory, power supplies, GPUs, and full servers.
- Experience with water-cooled servers is desirable but not required.
- Familiarity with Linux.
- Experience building PCs.
- Ability to follow a provided Plan of Action (POA) from support teams.
- Demonstrates continuous learning and stays current with technology through technical reading, company announcements, training, or similar activities.
- Able to handle the physical demands of the position.
- Provides detailed, real-time documentation of work performed.
- Has prior experience documenting technical work, incidents, or service activities.
- Communicates clearly, directly, and proactively.
- Personable and articulate when working with customers and team members.
- Provides detailed examples when discussing previous experience.
- Works effectively within a team and maintains a positive, professional attitude.
- Can answer questions thoroughly without excessive prompting or vague responses.

- Demonstrates the ability to perform effectively under pressure.
- Ability and willingness to obtain a security clearance, or previous experience holding a security clearance.
