About On-Demand Systems: ODS is a small business manufacturer created in 2019 and located in College Station TX. ODS is focused on low volume manufacture for the Department of Defense and related agencies such as first responders, federal entities, NATO, and U. S. allies. ODS is production‑oriented, deadline driven, and offers opportunities for personal and professional growth.
This position involves assisting on the production line including fabrication, assembly, and testing of parts, components, subassemblies and final assemblies in accordance with production documentation, as well as overseeing supply chain operations by developing processes to make the supply chain more efficient and organized, coordinating transportation providers, making special shipping arrangements as necessary, reviewing, preparing, and routing purchase orders, organizing and managing inventory, addressing and resolving inventory issues, liaising and negotiating with suppliers, and utilizing an inventory tracking system for optimizing inventory control.
Responsibilities- Maintains proper inventory by checking stock to determine inventory levels; anticipating demand needed to meet production schedules; placing and expediting orders for supplies and materials.
- Uses Inventory Management system to create purchase orders; MISys experience a plus.
- Verifies accuracy of received orders, properly labels and store items within the inventory room.
- Performs receiving/inspection using a variety of test equipment to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and industry standards.
- Pulls together inventory items to meet production schedule using a parts list to gather parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
- Troubleshoot products, processes, and test equipment;
Make recommendations for improvements in these areas. - Support company policies, procedures, goals, objectives, and manufacturing best practices.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Associates or Technical degree in medium voltage and low voltage a plus.
- Inventory/MRP system experience desired; MISys experience a plus.
- General knowledge of part assembly drawings and assembly drawings.
- Unit is both mechanical and electrical in nature. Prior work history in a manufacturing or service center is desired.
- Fluent in written and oral English is required.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds from floor to counter height on a regular basis and occasionally lift and move heavier objects.
