Purpose:

Primary responsibilities will include various aspects of maintenance and support for facilities, utility equipment, and nanofabrication processing equipment. This position will require the use of technical manuals, on-line resources, and OEM representatives to maintain the equipment operational with a minimum of downtime. Strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and cleanliness protocols in a cleanroom facility are mandatory.

We are actively recruiting for a Technician III, Technician IV, or Senior Technician I.

Minimum qualifications for a Technician III:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum qualifications for a Technician IV:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years of related experience.

Minimum qualifications for a Senior Technician I:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four years of related experience.

The well-qualified Technician III candidate would possess a basic level the following:

  • Hands-on experience with the maintenance and operation of a variety of nanofabrication tools, such as thin film deposition, photolithography, metrology, and reactive ion etching tools. The maintenance experience will involve troubleshooting a variety of hardware and software issues on this equipment. The ideal candidate will also have a working knowledge of the facilities associated with a Class 100 cleanroom, such as CDA, N2, air handlers, dirty air scrubbers, and fan filter units, to name a few.
  • Ability to perform routine troubleshooting and maintenance functions with minimal supervision after substantial on-the-job training and work in support of technicians or specialized maintenance contractors or OEMs on more complex equipment interventions. He/she will be able to work with other contractors, engineers, and quality control personnel regarding changes or improvements to the systems.
  • Demonstrate continuous personal pursuit to increasing job knowledge and proficiency with different systems; maintain a positive, professional, and customer-oriented attitude; be an excellent communicator; and work well with Aggie Fab full-time staff members and undergraduate student workers.

The well-qualified Technician IV candidate would possess a moderate level of the experience above and the following:

  • Ability to perform routine troubleshooting and maintenance functions with no supervision after training and work in support of technicians or specialized maintenance contractors or OEMs on more complex equipment interventions.

The well-qualified Senior Technician I candidate would possess an advanced level of the experience above and the following:

  • Ability to train and guide junior members of the team rapidly, conduct their work with organization and discipline, and make strategic decisions about the management of the Aggie Fab infrastructure.
