Development Officer – Texas A&M Health

This position is located onsite in College Station, Texas

The Texas A&M Foundation is seeking a Development Officer to support Texas A&M Health, with flexibility to hire at the level of Associate Development Officer, Assistant Director of Development, or Director of Development depending on the selected candidate’s experience, skillset, and demonstrated success in fundraising.

In this role, you will serve as an ambassador of the Texas A&M Foundation and Texas A&M University, helping unite donor generosity with university priorities in support of Texas A&M Health across the state of Texas. In all levels, this position plays a critical role in building meaningful donor relationships, advancing philanthropic support, and aligning donor passions with impactful opportunities that strengthen education, research, patient care, and community health initiatives across the Texas A&M Health enterprise.

You'll Do Responsibilities

As a Development Officer supporting Texas A&M Health, you will serve as a frontline fundraising professional responsible for advancing philanthropic support and strengthening donor relationships. In this role, you will:

  • Develop and implement strategic fundraising plans aligned with the Foundation’s priorities and Texas A&M Health’s mission and objectives.
  • Cultivate, solicit, and close major and principal gifts in support of Texas A&M Health priorities, programs, research initiatives, scholarships, and strategic opportunities.
  • Partner closely with Texas A&M Health leadership, faculty, university partners, and Foundation colleagues to identify philanthropic opportunities and translate needs into compelling cases for support.
  • Lead stewardship efforts to ensure donors feel valued, informed, and meaningfully connected to the impact of their philanthropy on health outcomes, education, and innovation.
  • Build and manage a portfolio of donors and prospects, maintaining strong relationships through personalized outreach and consistent engagement.
  • Collaborate across development teams to ensure alignment, data integrity, and coordinated donor strategies.
  • Represent the Foundation and Texas A&M Health at donor meetings, events, and campus engagements as needed.

What We Require
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in fundraising, development, sales, or a related relationship-driven field, with level determined based on years of experience and demonstrated outcomes:
  • Associate Development Officer: 0–2 years of relevant experience
  • Assistant Director of Development: 2–3 years of relevant experience
  • Director of Development: 3+ years of relevant experience, with a track record of progressively responsible fundraising or strategic relationship management
