Job Summary And Responsibilities

• Assessment:
  Conduct admission and ongoing assessment of patients’ conditions, provide nursing care that meets physical, psychological and spiritual needs, notify doctors of changes that require attention, reassess patients at appropriate intervals following interventions, and adjust nursing care to meet emerging needs.
• Planning:
  Design, direct, evaluate, and document the plan of care, patient/family teaching, and transitional care plan to include a safe appropriate level of discharge. Work with other clinical disciplines to meet specialized patient care and discharge needs.
• Implementation:
  Prepare patients physically, psychologically, and spiritually for treatments, surgeries and diagnostic studies to help reduce anxiety; report significant changes to Charge Nurse/Team Leader, and/or physician; implement patient safety initiatives and protocols including medication safety practices, physician orders, and consult notifications.

  Skills:
  
  Give and receive reports using the Bedside Shift Report including family participation; provide an accurate and comprehensive report to the oncoming shift to establish continuity of care; receive report from off‑going shift and delegate tasks as needed.
• Environment & Patient Safety:
  Maintain a safe working space, promptly remove soiled equipment, linen, etc., incorporate national and organizational goals to improve quality and patient safety, and report all safety concerns immediately.
• Supplies:
  Maintain accurate documentation of charges and supplies used to provide patient care through cost containment measures.

Required

• Associate of Nursing, upon hire or
• At least one (1) year of RN experience, upon hire
• Registered Nurse: TX, upon hire
• Basic Life Support – CPR, within 14 days

Preferred

• Bachelor of Nursing, upon hire
