Neonatal Physician Assistant Inpatient Medicine

Overview

Inpatient Neonatology Position at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – College Station. Approximately 62 hours per pay period. On-site coverage from 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM with phone call coverage only from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM Monday–Friday. Weekend coverage limited to 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM while on service. No overnight call requirements. Manage approximately 16 patients per day.

Responsibilities include neonatal patient management, hospital admissions, newborn rounding, circumcisions, and coordination of care with multidisciplinary teams.

Collaborative care model with: registered nurses, social workers, and dedicated unit support staff. Structured onboarding with support from experienced APPs already practicing within the department.

• Teach nursing staff, students, and families
• Participate in precepting and educational activities
• Expand neonatal and inpatient medicine expertise

• Preferred candidates will have 1+ year of APP experience
• Ideal backgrounds include:
  Neonatology, Pediatrics, Pediatric Acute Care, Women's Health, Hospital Medicine, Critical Care
• Practice within one of Texas' largest not-for-profit healthcare systems with comprehensive APP support and professional development opportunities
• Education:
  
  Grad of an Accredited Program
• Experience:
  
  Less than 1 Year of Experience
• Licensure/Certification:
  Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of Texas;
  Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire or transfer;
  Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of hire or transfer; NCCPA certification
