Greenhouse Technician

We are hiring immediately for a full‑time GREENHOUSE TECHNICIAN position.

Location:

TAMU – 600 Agronomy Road, College Station, TX 77843 (openings at other district locations available). Online applications only.

Schedule:

Full time, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with weekend rotation. Full and part‑time flexibility available.

Pay Range: $14.00–$17.50 per hour.

Plans and administers a program of grounds and plant maintenance, including growing schedules, propagation, trimming, pruning, and general janitorial duties. Responsible for the care of grasses, plants, and greenhouse operations.

• Provides quality customer service by giving attentive, detailed one‑on‑one service.
• Plants seeds/cuttings, transplants, waters, fertilizes, prunes, weeds, thins, and controls pests and diseases.
• Inspects common areas and reports deficiencies to the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Inspects external property and grounds; reports deficiencies to the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Mows lawns weekly during the appropriate season; cleans landscaping tools and equipment after each use.
• Trims bushes to maintain a neat appearance and desired shape.
• Prepares soil mixes.
• Rotates crops, manages inventory, and assists with loading plant material to the field.
• Maintains greenhouses and nursery clean at all times.
• Designs containers and installs plants and colors.
• Weeds flowerbeds weekly or more often if needed.
• Shovels exterior walkways during winter; salts or sands icy walkways as needed.
• Contributes to teamwork, facilitates good customer interactions, and exhibits professionalism.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Prior greenhouse experience and basic plant knowledge required.
• Valid non‑CDL Class C driver’s license.
• Ability to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
