Job DescriptionThe Program Assistant, under general supervision, provides standard program support.
Responsibilities- Research project management (35%):
Assist with development of grant proposals, coordinate multistate research projects, acquire resources and supplies for ongoing research projects, develop and update inventories for seed, herbicides, greenhouse supplies, research instrumentation, other resources. Plan and oversee project activities to ensure timely completion. - Administrative support (35%):
Assist with paperwork for hiring personnel, handle email/phone communications delegated by PI, manage funding accounts, verify/submit receipts, arrange logistics for visitors, organize group meetings, provide day‑to‑day administrative support as required. - Research communication (20%):
Prepare reports by coordinating with students and staff, assist with development of videos and other media for dissemination, manage and update program website and social media pages. - Other duties (10%):
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required
Education:
BS in Agriculture or related field.
Preferred Education: MS in Agriculture or related field.
Required Experience: Previous experience in roles indicated above is preferred, but not required.
Preferred Experience: Experience with research project management, research communication, administrative assistance, data summary, report preparation, and communication. Background in agricultural research methodology.
Preferred Licenses and
Certifications:
Pesticide Applicator’s License.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Excellent organization skills.
- Ability to multi‑task and work cooperatively with others.
- Database programs (MS Access, Agrobase, etc).
- Video development and editing.
- Data analysis.
- Research communication using popular media.
- Website and social media page maintenance.
- Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Resume.
